Danish Modern Exhibition at Trapholt Museum, Kolding

Verner Panton was characterized by an experimental practice and created furniture and craftsmanship with a brand new idiom that was characterized by a sculptural, expressive and colorful expression. "One sits more comfortably on a colour that one likes." Panton said.

Trapholt presents a curated selection of Verner Panton's huge production based on Trapholt's collection of furniture, lamps and textiles.

Verner Panton (1926-1998) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 1951. As a young architect, he worked at Arne Jacobsen's drawing office, where he helped to design the revolutionary chair "Myren". Based on the stylish furniture simplicity of the Danish furniture tradition, Panton enrolled in design history as one of the most forward-thinking, experimental and innovative designers. He was characterized by an experimental practice that explored and developed new materials. He preferred plastic, steel, foam rubber and other synthetic fabrics.

From the Verpan collection, you can experience classics such as the Cloverleaf sofa, Series 430 chair, Barboy and Spiral pendants.
